Paso Robles, CA (July 11, 2016) — This June, Neue Schule representatives visited the picturesque Paso Robles Horse Park in Paso Robles, California, where they awarded dressage professional Sabine Schut-Kery with the Neue Schule Best Hands Award at the Templeton Farms Paso Robles Dressage Summer Classic. As the Official Bit of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), Neue Schule enjoys rewarding riders like Schut-Kery who demonstrate excellent hand aids during equestrian competition.
Neue Schule, a sponsor of the Paso Robles Dressage Summer Classic, was excited to be able to use this sponsorship as a means to recognize Schut-Kery for her soft and consistent contact. Good contact is of utmost importance to the innovative bit company, which prides itself on making bits that promote effective communication while keeping the horse’s wellbeing a top priority. Schut-Kery earned the Neue Schule Best Hands Award aboard Sir Cedrik H, an 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding owned by Nicole Bhathal, in the Prix St. George and the Intermediare I.
Schut-Kery shares Neue Schule’s commitment to soft communication. “I am very honored to have been given this award because having my horse light in my hands is a very important part of my training philosophy and is something I constantly teach in my lessons,” remarked Schut-Kery.
Schut-Kery is based out of El Campeon Farms in Thousand Oaks, California, where she works with just eight horses at a time to ensure that each horse gets her full attention. The German native believes that every horse should be treated as an individual whose own unique learning abilities should be respected.
“To achieve good contact with my horses is important to me so that I can produce and maintain good longitudinal and lateral balance in my horses body. When a horse is heavy in the bridle, it is often a result of the horse not working correctly from the hind end through his body,” she said.
The international bit brand Neue Schule, distributed in North America by Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery, is dedicated to helping horses and riders achieve their goals while maintaining comfort and safety. Schut-Kery is looking forward to using the new Neue Schule Verbindend snaffle bit that she received as winner of the Neue Schule Best Hands Award.
