Neue Schule Salutes Laura Graves on Winning Performance and Dedication to the Sport

Wellington, FL (March 14, 2015)— Having been away from the limelight since her amazing fifth-place finish in the freestyle at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014, Laura Graves and her partner Verdades returned to the international spotlight with a splash. The pair rode away with the blue and an outstanding score of 78.875 percent when they secured the Grand Prix freestyle under the lights during the 2015 Adequan Global Dressage Festival Palm Beach Derby.

Graves’s recent accomplishment comes as no surprise to her sponsor Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery, distributor of Neue Schule bits— which are loved by Graves for their innovative design and premium fit based on the horse’s anatomy. “Changing to Neue Schule bits was a changing point in my training,” Graves explains. “At this point, every one of my horses goes in Neue Schule.”

Graves, who is a proud Neue Schule Ambassador, has consistently demonstrated her dedication to the sport and riding talent in her pursuit of continually improving her performances with her own Verdades, who she lovingly calls “Diddy.” Although Graves and Diddy took a bit of a hiatus from competition after The World Equestrian Games, they have been working hard on improving “the little stuff,” as Graves says. It seems that their attention to detail is paying off.

Despite her own accolades, Graves continues to work hard with trainer Olympian Debbie McDonald. “We are really looking for improvement instead of staying stagnant,” Graves commented. “I want to post a higher score. That would be my goal− to see some consistency in the piaffe/passage. We know his pirouettes are strong. We’d also like to see the flying changes improve.” Besides helping Graves with her training, McDonald was also the first to introduce Graves to Neue Schule bits.

Graves has exciting plans for after the Adequan Global Dressage Festival comes to a close. “This year our focus is on the Pan American Games in Toronto,” she said. She is also hoping to make a trip to Las Vegas for the Longines FEI World Cup Finals. “If it works logistically, it would be an amazing experience!”

Equipped with unbridled passion and the support of Neue Schule, which produces the bits Graves swears by, there is no doubt Graves will continue to impress.
