Neue Schule Bits Welcomes Show Jumping Sensation Candice King as Ambassador
West Palm Beach, FL (October 8, 2013) – Neue Schule bits recently announced that US show jumping extraordinaire, Candice King, is now one of their endorsed riders and Neue Schule Ambassadors. King, who was featured in a Ride & Learn educational program sponsored by Neue Schule during the 2013 Winter Equestrian Festival is thrilled about their new relationship.
“A bit is really important because it helps me communicate with my horses,” stated King, “I especially like Neue Schule bits because they are very welcoming to the horse. When in a Neue Schule, they are very content and willing to work, and I like how they sit in the horse’s mouth,” she added.
King explains that she has found success with Neue Schule’s Tranz Angled Lozenge Full Cheek after working with it on her Grand Prix mount, Campbell VDL (Cassini I x Carpaccio). “He’s got a really soft mouth, so for him, it’s very important to have a bit he’s comfortable with,” she describes, “Having the full cheek helps me steer, and he’s very comfortable with the type of metal that it is. Working with Neue Schule has been a pleasure,” she stated. “I’m happy with how the bits work and how the horses accept them, but on top of that, it is so nice to work with everyone at Neue Schule!”
Neue Schule bits is especially proud to be sponsoring King because of their shared interest and dedication to educating equestrians on all aspects of riding and performance as it relates to bits. King has been a successful international competitor for over two decades, representing the United States in 13 Nation’s Cup competitions around the world. Amongst numerous notable accomplishments, King was the top placed US rider at the 2001 FEI Show Jumping World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden, and was the first American rider since 1968 to win the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Cup at the Royal International Horse Show in England.
Mette Larsen of Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery is the US and Canadian Distributor for Neue Schule bits. She explains that the bits are anatomically designed for the horse’s mouth and create a better platform for the rider-horse connection. “We look forward to working more with Candice, as she experiences the full selection of these amazing bits,” Larsen said. Neue Schule offers a range of high performance, superior comfort bits that are ergonomically designed, using the latest in engineering and computer aided design(CAD) technologies and incorporate a unique copper alloy that promotes acceptance and communication. “The better designed the bit is, the easier it is for the rider and the horse,” she continued, “ Each bit addresses the various problematic issues that can occur between the horse and the contact with the bit, like pulling on the rider, hiding behind the bit, unevenness in the hand, tongue issues, etc. The bits are designed to help alleviate some of these issues so that the horse and rider get back to focusing on their ride or their training.”
