Neue Schule Ambassador Mikala Gundersen is Number One in Denmark’s National Dressage Rankings

Riverhead, NY (June 15, 2015) Neue Schule bits are known for the innovation and cutting-edge designs that put them a step ahead of the rest. No one can testify as well to the excellence of these bits as can Neue Schule Ambassadors, the elite group of international equestrians who use Neue Schule bits while riding to victory. Neue Schule Ambassador Mikala Gundersen of Wellington, Florida has just moved to the number one slot in the dressage rankings in her native Denmark— further confirming the standard of performance excellence delivered by riders who choose Neue Schule.

Gundersen’s current ranking in the Danish standings, according to Dansk Ride Forbund, sits at 5,888 points. She and her equine teammate My Lady are well ahead of second-seeded Lars Peterson with Mariett at 5,232 points.

Gundersen, who rides Janne Rumbough’s Danish Warmblood mare, My Lady, is the latest Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage Finals and World Equestrian Games veteran to credit Neue Schule with contributing to her success. In May, fellow Neue Schule Ambassadors Steffen Peters on Legolas 92 and Laura Graves on Verdades secured slots in the top ten of the FEI World Individual Dressage Rankings.

Earlier this year, Gundersen and My Lady also competed in the 2015 Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida. With Neue Schule bits connecting the talented two, they became the top money-earning pair of the entire 2015 show series.

“I’m very happy and thankful to be on top of the list, and I’m so proud of My Lady,” smiled the Danish equestrian, who— like Neue Schule— is quick to put her horses first. “Neue Schule works every day to develop the kindest, most effective communication tools we can.  Our horses deserve our best,” added Mette Larsen, president and founder of Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery, the North American distributor of Neue Schule Bits.

Gundersen is based in Florida and married to show jumper Henrik Gundersen, with whom she shares the operation of Bell Tower Farm and HORSE GYM USA® advanced equine treadmills. With her versatile experiences in the equine industry, Gundersen is well versed in choosing the best items on the market for her horses. Neue Schule is happy to congratulate Gundersen on her most recent success, and is proud to be the bit of choice for this top dressage competitor.

Neue Schule bits are created to increase comfort and improve the connection between horse and rider. Their advanced designed stems from a complete understanding of the horse’s anatomy, cutting-edge engineering, and technology. One of the most innovative features of a Neue Schule bit is its unique metal called Salox Gold®. Salox Gold® is the most thermally conductive bit-making material on the market, allowing Neue Schule bits to reach the temperature of the horse’s mouth quickly while remaining tasteless due to no bioavailability. The Neue Schule design results in a more relaxed acceptance of the bit, increases responsiveness to the rider, and alleviates problematic issues that can occur if a horse is uncomfortable due to an ill-fitted bit.
